Ellie & Stephen: A Greenhouse-Style Wedding at Shoppe in Birmingham | Baton Rouge Wedding Photographer
Every so often a wedding comes along that's just a little different from the ones before it, and Ellie & Stephen's greenhouse-style ceremony at Shoppe in Birmingham, Alabama was exactly that kind of day. Glass walls, hanging greenery, and soft natural light poured in from every angle — it's the kind of venue that does half the work for you as a photographer, because the space itself is already so beautiful.
A Greenhouse Wedding, Done Right
There's something about getting married surrounded by living, growing things that gives a wedding day an entirely different feeling than a traditional ballroom or church setting. At Shoppe, the greenery wasn't just decoration — it was the architecture itself, wrapping around the ceremony space and softening every frame with texture and depth. Ellie's bouquet, full of tulips and lush greenery, felt like a natural extension of the room rather than something added on top of it.
Traveling Beyond Baton Rouge
While I'm based here as a Baton Rouge wedding photographer, some of my favorite sessions happen when a couple's venue takes us further from home. Birmingham was a beautiful excuse to do exactly that, and Ellie & Stephen's day was a wonderful reminder that a great wedding venue is worth traveling for — whether that's a greenhouse in Alabama or a garden right here in Louisiana.
Congratulations, Ellie & Stephen
Thank you both for having me document a day this beautiful. Here's to a marriage as full of light and life as the room you said "I do" in.
If you're planning a wedding — in Birmingham, Baton Rouge, or somewhere in between — and love the idea of a greenhouse-style or garden ceremony, I'd love to talk through your vision.
