An LSU Campus Engagement Session | Baton Rouge Photographer

Sarah & Andre were real troopers in that Baton Rouge June heat for their LSU campus engagement session. It was nothing short of humid, but I'm so glad they pushed through — because memorializing their love on the very campus where they first met gave this whole session a sweet, sentimental feeling that you just can't fake in a studio.

As a Baton Rouge engagement photographer, I love when a couple's session location actually means something to their story, and LSU's campus is one of the most naturally meaningful (and photogenic) places in the city to do exactly that.

Why LSU Campus Works So Well for Engagement Photos

The LSU Quad is the heart of it all — sprawling live oaks, wide open green space, and that classic collegiate architecture in the background. For Sarah & Andre, walking the same paths they once walked as students turned their engagement photos into something closer to a love letter to where their relationship actually began.

From the Quad, we made our way toward LSU's Memorial Tower, one of the most recognizable landmarks on campus and an easy favorite backdrop for Baton Rouge engagement photos — it's grand without being fussy, and it photographs beautifully in that late-afternoon Louisiana light.

And of course, no LSU campus engagement session feels complete without a stop at Tiger Stadium. Tiger Stadium engagements have become something of a tradition for LSU couples, purple-and-gold pride included, and for a couple like Sarah & Andre — with real history on this campus — it added a playful, spirited note to a session that was otherwise all quiet sentimentality.

Real Troopers in Real Louisiana Heat

I won't pretend this was a comfortable shoot. Baton Rouge in June is no joke, and Sarah & Andre handled the heat and humidity like absolute champs, staying relaxed, laughing between setups, and never once losing that easy chemistry that made this session so much fun to photograph. It's a good reminder that some of the most genuine, cheerful engagement photos come out of sessions that weren't necessarily easy to shoot — comfort isn't what makes a photo feel real. Connection is.

Here's to You, Sarah & Andre

Congratulations again to this wonderful couple — thank you for trusting me with something as sentimental as the campus where your story started. Sessions like this one are exactly why I love doing what I do as a Baton Rouge wedding photographer: getting to celebrate a couple's story in the very place it began.

Planning Your Own LSU Campus Engagement Session

If you're newly engaged and considering LSU's campus for your own engagement photos — whether it's the Quad, Memorial Tower, Tiger Stadium, or all three — I'd love to help you plan a session that tells your story the way this one told Sarah & Andre's.
