Fall Maternity Photos at Veterans Memorial Park | Baton Rouge Maternity Photographer

There’s something especially beautiful about maternity photos in the fall. The warm light, changing leaves, and softer colors made the perfect backdrop for Erin’s maternity session at Veterans Memorial Park.

We spent the afternoon walking around the park and taking advantage of all the different little pockets of light—from the trees glowing in the late-afternoon sun to the open views along the water. Erin chose a simple olive green dress that worked so beautifully with the fall colors, and I love how timeless the entire gallery feels.

One of my favorite things about maternity sessions is making time for both portraits of the mom-to-be and photos of the parents together. This season is about so much more than documenting a growing belly—it’s also about remembering the anticipation and excitement of the two of you waiting to meet your baby.

Erin and her husband were so natural together, which made their photos feel relaxed and genuine. We captured plenty of the classic maternity portraits, but some of my favorites are the quieter moments between them—the laughing, walking together, and the way they naturally settled into one another.

And of course, we had to photograph those tiny white baby shoes. Details like these may seem small now, but they become some of the sweetest parts of a maternity gallery once that little baby is actually here.

Fall Maternity Photos in Baton Rouge

If you’re expecting, I recommend scheduling maternity photos for a point in your pregnancy when your belly is beautifully defined but you’re still comfortable enough to walk around and enjoy your session. Your maternity photos don’t need to feel overly posed or formal. My goal is to give you a mix of beautiful portraits and natural moments that genuinely feel like you during this season.

A fall maternity session is especially gorgeous in Baton Rouge because we can take advantage of the warm evening light, earthy colors, and cooler temperatures while still getting plenty of that soft, romantic look I love.

Erin’s session was such a beautiful example of that—simple, warm and focused on the excitement of what was just around the corner.
